Emotes

Learn how to customise your channel with custom emotes

Updated over 4 months ago

How it works

Each channel created comes with 60 active emote slots and 240 library emote slots. This allows creators to switch emotes easily as they see fit.

Emotes can be static or animated.

Channel emotes are available to use in the channel's chatroom for all followers of that channel. Subscribers to that channel can also use the channel emotes in all chatrooms across the platform.

๐Ÿ’ก Tip: Every channel comes with the same emotes slots, which means that even if you're an artist, but don't feel like streaming, you can still upload emotes you've created to your channel and propose a subscription price to allow users to use your emotes across the platform!

Channel emotes names all start with an emote prefix, that the creator can choose in their Creator Dashboard.

Uploading channel emotes

Navigate to the Channel emotes section of the Creator Dashboard.

You can either upload an active emote if you have less than 60 current active emotes, or upload a new emote in your library for future use.

You need to upload three different sizes for each of your emotes, whether they are static or animated. They must comply to the following pixel sizes:

  • 112 x 112 px or 128 x 128 px

  • 56 x 56 px or 64 x 64 px

  • 28 x 28 px or 32 x 32 px

You need to give your emote a name, which will be appended to the emote prefix you've decided on.

Static emotes requirements

The images for your static emotes must meet the following requirements:

  • Contain the exact same image for all 3 sizes

  • Be a square image

  • Each have a maximum file size of 100kb

  • Not be animated

Animated emotes requirements

The images for your animated emotes must meet the following requirements:

  • Contain the exact same image for all 3 sizes

  • Be a square shaped .gif

  • Each have a maximum file size of 512kb

  • Each cannot contain more than 180 frames

โ„น๏ธ Note: we do not allow NSFW/Adult content in Channel Emotes, please make sure that the asset you upload complies to bump's Community Guidelines.

Using channel emotes

If you are a follower of a channel, you can use this channel's emotes in this channel's chatroom.

If you are subscriber of a channel, you can use this channel's emotes in all the chatrooms of the platform.

To use a specific channel emote in a chatroom, you can either find it in the emotes modal by clicking on the emote icon on the right side of the chatroom's input field, or you can type the full emote name in the chatroom's input field.
